Welcome to my website.

I write fiction: novels mostly, but also some short stories. They're an eclectic lot, because I like to read a variety of genres. I write because some character has taken up residence in my head and won't go away until I tell her story; or because something in the world gets my attention in a "What if..." way. I write to find out what will happen, because I would like to read this story and it won't exist until I write it. And since I like to read a variety of genres, I also write in a variety of genres.

The current resident in my head is Tilde Becker: nine when I first met her, she's a bipolar artist growing up during the Great Depression. She's planning to stay around for quite awhile, because I know things she does and places she goes and what some of her battles are, but not how she gets to them or how it all turns out. That's why I have to write her story: to find out.

I hope you will come with me to explore her world. The first book of the series, Tilde, is available now. I am editing the second book, Tilde and the Boy, and expect to publish it early in 2012.
